Optimization of Chlorogenic Acid in Ethanol Extracts from Elderberry Flowers (Sambucus nigra L.) under Different Conditions: Response Surface Methodology

The characteristics of elderberries and their flowers as well selected properties chlorogenic acid related to phenolic compounds are described. aim this study was optimize the content in ethanol extracts elderberry using response surface methodology (RSM). experiment carried out with four research variants: fresh raw material treated warm (50 °C) or cold (25 same procedure for that frozen a month then dried. For each variant, nine methods obtaining were prepared three different concentrations by volume (40, 68 95%) extraction times (7, 20 30 days). Higher contents found variants (106.3 384.8 µg/cm3) comparison samples (60.77 298.3 µg/cm3). Optimization models showed small losses efficiency, process can be up days (instead 30) use concentration approx. 68% 95%). optimization efficiency technological processes processing herbs supported methodology.
